DAY 1: WELCOME MEETING
The day started with a welcome meeting with Hugo Watanuki and David de Hilster. I will be working on their supervision during this internship. My main focus will be on Sentiment Analysis in English, which was a broader concept but, thanks to David, he helped me to focus on a particular instance like maybe a national cricket team or any club cricket's tweets and use it as a dataset for my project using NLP++.
In the meeting, David gave short session on the importance of NLP++ in the modern world. Following this we discussed on the exercise given by David to learn more on NLP++ features, on creating an NLP++ analyzer called ParseAddresses, which I had a difficulty in performing but, David gave me an idea to start on it.
Later, we discussed on my project regarding the dataset I need to work up on.
Once the meeting was done, I dove right back into learning more about the ECL which was conducted in collaboration with my college. Introduction to ECL(Part-1).
DAY 2:
The day started with continuing the tutorials on NLP++ by David, on various aspects of VisualText used for it. The tutorial videos were a bit confusing at the start but once you get the hang of it, David is an excellent tutor.
Apart from that I spent my time on the paper by Pedro on his sentiment analysis on tweets during a soccer match.
DAY 3-5:
I attended sessions on Introduction to ECL(Part-1 and Part-2) as per the timeline. The sessions were really useful to me.
Hopefully, I do better in next week than this one, just trying to be better than yesterday!!
